Patrick Mahomes is on his way to another potential MVP trophy after a 5th straight AFC Championship appearance for the Kansas City Chiefs. And he needs all the luck when he goes up against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. And rapper Drake believes in a Chiefs’ victory, and bet an extraordinary amount on Kansas.

Mahomes will need the cheering and the support after the Chiefs quarterback injured his ankle in the divisional round win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last Saturday. Also, they’re up against the formidable Bengals defense who hold a flawless record against Patrick and Co. And Drake could have probably given it a second thought.

Drake put up the IG story to let the Kansas fans know

The Canadian rapper is not all misguided to put his money on the Chiefs. The 2020 Super Bowl champions are heavy contenders this year in the remaining four. “Big Sunday. Let’s buy mama something nice,” Drake posted on his Instagram showing his $1.1 million bet on Mahomes and Andy Reid’s brilliance.

Drake’s bets are infamous in the betting world as bad omens for the team he puts his money on. However, Lionel Messi’s Argentina broke that unlucky ‘Drake curse’ when they won the FIFA World Cup last month in Qatar, beating France in the final. And Mahomes has to count on some reversed good luck with his injury troubles looming.

Bengals fans were confident about their side and their quarterback, Cool Joe Burrow, who is still 3-0 against Mahomes, including last year’s 27-24 AFC Championship game.

The Chiefs have other problems besides Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes isn’t the only one in doubt for the game on Sunday. After Tyreek Hill left for the Miami Dolphins in the off-season, Travis Kelce transformed into Mahomes’ primary offensive weapon. However, Kelce missed practice and was ruled questionable on Thursday after a back injury. Drake clearly didn’t do his due research.

Mahomes said he will be playing in the conference championship. “I’m doing good. AFC Championship week! Ready to go,” Mahomes started his press conference on Thursday. The QB also attended both practice sessions during the week and has kept Kansas’ hopes alive. “It’s feeling good so far. I felt better than I thought I was going to be after the game,” Mahomes said.

Patrick Mahomes displayed incredible heroics on Saturday when he returned with a high ankle sprain in the second half and drove the Chiefs to a 27-20 win, including a weak-foot plant jumping touchdown pass. And Kansas will be praying for a similar display tonight.
