With Deshaun Watson warming the bench as a healthy scratch. All the eyes were on Taylor to fill in the shoes of Watson, which he most certainly did. His 21 of 33 pass attempts with two touchdowns and zero interceptions completely outdid the hopes of the head coach David Culley.

When asked what it meant to come through with a win given the backdrop for the team, Taylor replied, “It means everything to me and I know it means a lot to the guys in the locker room.” He further adds, “Since day one, coach Culley made it important that we not focus on outside perception. I think that was something the guys leaned on in the locker room. Just playing for one another. Not necessarily doing it for anything outside the locker room… Just playing for the guys next to you.”

Earned the QB1 spot!

However, after the first week, it can be concluded that the QB spot is in safe hands. As Taylor roared out loud with a decisive victory in the midst of so much negative noise surrounding the franchise.
