One of the great coaching minds in the NFL suffered a devastating loss. Former Jaguars and Giants head coach Tom Coughlin faced the heartbreaking demise of his better half, Judy Coughlin. She was beside her husband during his first stint as a coach with the Jaguars, leading to the Giants. After the news came out, the NFL Universe showcased their condolences on Twitter.

Judy Coughlin was a big part of her husband’s coaching career since its origin. The Coach won two Super Bowls, defeating Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Coughlin and his wife have been married for 55 years. Moreover, she left a legacy of four children and eleven grandchildren. It has sent shockwaves across the football fanbase.

NFL Universe came forward to pay condolences

Former NFL coach Tom Coughlin lost his beloved wife, Judy, at 77. She was battling a prolonged illness. As per Fox26, Coughlin mentioned in 2020 that his wife had progressive supranuclear palsy. It is an unusual brain disorder that gets worse over time. 

The NFL Universe showered condolences and well wishes for the departed soul and the Coughlin Family.

The Coughlin Family shared a statement after Judy’s passing

Tom Coughlin and his family penned down an emotional statement after the passing of the former coach’s wife’s passing. The statement mentioned, “My cherished wife and our beloved mother and grandmother, Judy Whitaker Coughlin, passed away this morning at the age of 77. Judy was a remarkable woman in every way. She lived a life filled with love and unselfishly gave her heart and soul to others. Judy made you feel like an old friend from the first hug to the last.”

The statement added that Judy was a mother figure to everyone on and off the field. Anybody who has known and loved her can not express the immensity of Judy’s departure in words, but the immense generosity she exhibited to others will go on.
