The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a couple of eye-catching signings in 2020. They brought in the likes of Tom Brady, Leonard Fournette, Shady McCoy, Rob Gronkowski, and Antonio Brown on short-term deals. A busy summer resulted in the Bucs winning their second-ever Super Bowl title with Brady as their starter.

The Bucs defense led by Suh and others put up an impressive display to restrict the Kansas City Chiefs to just 9 points in the Super Bowl LV finale. In doing so, Tampa Bay Buccaneers became the first team in NFL history to lift a Lombardi trophy on home soil.

They’ve managed to hold on to their key performers heading into the 2021 NFL season. But GM Jason Licht and HC Bruce Arians were not satisfied with the defensive squad depth and moved to bring in veteran cornerback and free agent, Richard Sherman, on a one-year contract.

Richard Sherman signs exclusive one-year contract with Tampa Bay
Richard Sherman signed a 1-year contract with the Bucs that has a $1-million base salary with a $350,000 per game roster bonus. He can earn up to $2.25-million with upside.

NFL insider Richard Stroud was one of the first reporters to shed light on the contract details surrounding Richard Sherman and his arrival in Tampa Bay. As per multiple reports, the 33-year old stands to earn north of $2.25 million (including bonuses) over a 12-month period with the Buccaneers.

Additionally, Sherman will receive $500,000 in guarantees as per his latest contract. There are no reports of an option for extension included in his deal with the Pirates.
Sherman will be the last missing puzzle for the Buccaneers as they gear up to defend their Super Bowl title this season. He might get an opportunity to make his Tampa Debut in Week 4.
