The entire world mourned the unfortunate passing of Queen Elizabeth II in the Balmoral Castle. Naturally, the British natives are sad after the news. But to take their minds off the situation, some British NFL fans recorded the 2022-23 season opener. However, the NFL UK had to sit through a five-hour coverage of the longest-reigning monarch instead of the game.

Many UK fans taped the action at night to watch it the next dawn. Much to their amazement, they witnessed five hours of programming on the tragedy of the Queen’s passing. Unfortunately, the British NFL fans were left disappointed.

The football fans in the UK got up early to catch up with the NFL game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Buffalo Bills. However, the Sky Sports Main Event, where the games commonly go on air, had Sky News’ coverage instead. They only have five hours of the Queen’s footage instead of the season opener showdown.

It did not just happen to one. Various users came to Twitter to talk about it. It frustrated many of them as they hoped to watch the game. However, they are now getting The Queen’s tribute coverage in the recordings.

After the news of Queen Elizabeth II’s demise circled, various sectors came forward to pay homage to the longest-reigning monarch. The official NFL UK also sent a tweet saying “Everyone at NFL UK is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with The Royal Family. We join all those mourning the loss of Her Majesty.”

After the news of the unfortunate passing spread around the globe, various Sports leagues around the world paid homage to Queen Elizabeth II, celebrating her long and devoted reign as monarch. There was an attempt to hold a period of silence in tribute to the late Queen before the NFL season kickoff between the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Rams.

The SoFi Stadium public announcer mentioned the passing of the Queen and participated in a moment of silence in her remembrance. He added that the Monarch’s vision of peace and harmony had influenced individuals across the globe for centuries. After the period, the 2022-23 season officially began.
