Tom Brady is not one to back down from a challenge and his adventure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is nothing short of that. The former New England Patriots man opted to push his limits and stamp his authority on the game by joining the Florida-based franchise on a two-year deal. Former Pats teammate  and reputed NFL tight end, Rob Gronkowski will join him.

Another former NFL quarterback opted to do the same back in the 1990s. San Francisco 49ers great, Joe Montana, famously joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 1993 after 14 years in the Bay. Can Brady have a similar impact on his Bucs teammates as we edge closer to the 2020 season?

NFL expert compares Tom Brady to the legendary Joe Montana

Tom Brady arrived in Florida with great expectations on his shoulders. But then again, that is something that he has always dealt with very gracefully. Both players were part of the Kansas City Chiefs when Joe Montana arrived in 1993.

James said, “They (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) have guys that have gone through this, right? This never happens, a guy that is a living legend as he’s called around here, had such a Hall of Fame career with one franchise, then one offseason, boom, he’s your teammate.”

“Well, there were two coaches on this staff, Kevin Ross and Todd McNair, the defensive backs coach and the running backs coach, both players in Kansas City when Joe Montana joined them and McNair told us that there is an added sense of urgency, there is an added sense of accountability that he is familiar with and he can tell his running backs about,” Palmer said.

Palmer does make a fine point. As per this report from Tuesday, Brady’s teammates are taking some time to adjust to his fast-paced game. The likes of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and others will be eager to learn from the three-time NFL MVP. From his side, TB12 will also hope to make a lasting impression with his new team. Montana’s stint at Kansas City Chiefs was short-lived. Does a similar ending await ‘Tampa Brady’?
