Dallas Cowboys’ staff writer David Helman considers the move a steal.

“Honestly, what’s not to love? Dalton has started 133 games and thrown 200 + touchdowns. And he’s signing for a bargain. I love this addition and I never thought the Cowboys would do it…which seems to be a theme for 2020. Guess I need to re-adjust my expectations.”

Dalton was set to earn $17.6 million in the final year of his contract with The Bengals. However, they released him. This is because the franchise made Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow their top draft pick. But, as of now, they do not have a proper injury replacement for Burrow.

Dallas Cowboys swooped in and ensured that they have an able replacement should misfortune befall their quarterback and franchise player Dak Prescott.

The deal has evoked mixed reactions from fans. While some are in favor of this as they feel 2 top quarterbacks to compete at an optimum level across a full NFL season. Other fans even consider the backup to be much better than the starter. Their tweets indicate that there will be pressure on the 2016 4th round draft pick.

The Dak Prescott-Amari Cooper combination was shown to be statistically better in comparison to Mahomes-Hill pairing. Hence, this shows that Jerry Jones is intent on getting the Super Bowl Trophy to Dallas. What do you think of this shocking signing?
