The Washington Commanders are at the onset of major changes ahead of the 2023 season of the NFL. Following current owner Dan Snyder’s controversial era that has in one way or another tarnished the reputation of a once great team, there has been a bid made by two parties that look forward to acquiring the $6 billion franchise from his hands. Initial reports suggested Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils owner Josh Harris and his group were finalizing a deal at the $6 billion asking mark.
But the whole game changed after DC native Brian Davis submitted a higher bid around the $7 billion mark to acquire the franchise. But now, his bid faces a crisis in terms of his credibility after being sued over a $322,00 loan disparity with another DC native.

Darren Haines of WUSA9 recently spoke to Brian Davis. He talked about how Davis placed the $7 billion bid for the Commanders on March 21st. But the underlying question is that where did the money come from? He further went on to say that six days after the bid, he and his company Urban Echo failed to repay a $322,000 loan from a DC man. Haines further went on to question Davis about his opinion regarding the lawsuits that he faces currently.

To this, Davis replied by saying, “I have made business mistakes but in terms of character integrity. What I can say is that unlike most I didn’t file for bankruptcy. I actually sold my assets to pay everyone back. And then I have it in a credit agreement that everyone signs, to allow me to do that. I would like to apologize to the public or anyone else that I’ve offended or gave harm.”

The Commanders’ ownership debacle
Initially, it looked like Josh Harris and his group had the reins from Snyder as the new owners of the franchise. The group also includes billionaire Mitchell Rales and NBA legend Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson. But the $6 billion offer saw itself come to a hold as Brain Davis came in with his own lucrative $7 billion bid to acquire the Commanders. In terms of Davis’ bid, $1 billion goes to Snyder within 24 hours of acceptance, and the rest of $6 billion gets credited within the next seven days.
But with how things are turning out, who will take over as the new owners of the Washington Commanders? Will Davis be a safe bet for Snyder, despite the loan news, or is Harris going to be the ultimate victor? What do you think?
