The Cleveland Browns have played two games ever since they bid their star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. goodbye. However, he still continues to be the third-leading receiver of the franchise since it has been acknowledged by yet another Browns received, Jarvis Landry. Even he hasn’t been getting enough passes.

Does that imply that the Browns’ 2018 No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick quarterback Baker Mayfield has problems reaching the wideouts? It certainly looks so as the team ranks 26th for passing attacks in the NFL with 209.7 yards per game, which certainly is an alarming signal for the team’s front office.

Jarvis Landry pointing out the Cleveland Browns flaws

“I haven’t been getting the ball so much either,” Jarvis Landry told Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot on Tuesday. “But at the end of the day, I’ve been able to do with the opportunities I’m given.” However, when asked about the reason behind it the wideout said, “I don’t know.”

Jarvis Landry trails Odell Beckham Jr. in the Browns’ receiving yards with 219 on 23 catches, despite missing four games this season with a knee injury. OBJ happens to take a spot above the Landry with 17 catches for 232 yards before leaving for the Los Angeles Rams.

Donovan People’s Jones takes the second spot in the Browns passing yardage list with 16 catches for 330 yards, a number that makes him the most productive Browns wide receiver in 2021. However, topping the list is tight end David Njoku with 352 receiving yards on 22 catches.

Yet the main reason of concern would be the decreasing stat game of the quarterback who is averaging a career-low 221.1 passing yards per game. Making Mayfield a big reason for the Browns to worry about.

Although Landry did not acknowledge the matter to bring forth the inefficiency of the QB, since he also admired Mayfield for playing through his injury.

“He’s a tough man, and he’s doing all the things necessary to make sure that he can be out there with us,” Landry said.

Although it is still a major drawback for the franchise, since their all-important quarterback can’t get the ball to his wide receivers. And the Browns front office has a lot of decision-making to do. We’ll see if they offer Mayfield an extension of his rookie contract or not.
