Transitioning from the field to the booth is the most popular path in several athletes’ careers. After spending more than a decade with the Dallas Cowboys, Tony Romo set out to offer his views as an NFL analyst. The transition, from the looks of it, is not as easy as it seems.

The decline in rhythm and, at times, biased takes are beginning to garner criticism. Speaking to the New York Post, Romo said that as his career evolves, he’s inclined to lean on a process based on trial and error. Emphasizing on adaptability he added, “I just think it’s enjoyable to try and be the best you can be, and the only way to do that is sometimes to trial and error, and staying inside the umbrella of what you think that the viewer wants to help them enjoy the show.” As the off-season approaches, the analyst may have to head to the drawing board to figure out what went wrong.

Setting aside Romo’s woes, the NFL world has something big to look forward to in the future. Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady’s recent retirement announcement has now opened the path to a potential second career in broadcasting. In the past, TB12 expressed interest in pursuing a future in the broadcasting world.

While it does seem like a good option, there may not be an immediate plan of action. Having Brady’s insights during the big games is something to look forward to. But before setting expectations, the NFL world will have to patiently wait as the newly retired QB settles in and hopefully offers confirmation.
