It was a complete show of sheer dominance by the Cowboys at the US Bank stadium this week. Dak Prescott and Co. Slayed the formidable Vikings 40-3 with all three units, offense, defense, and special teams showcasing splendid gameplay. After the win, the Cowboys quarterback mentioned that he saw it coming a long way because that’s how the defense trained at an insane level.

Last week’s overtime loss against the Packers was something that stung the Cowboys a lot, and they were in dire need to wash that away. However, they would have never imagined getting an opportunity in the next game itself, especially against a team that looked scary the entire season.

Prescott was ready

The Cowboys’ defense looked most efficient by restricting their opponents to three points. Well, there is a reason that Prescott disclosed during the post-game press conference.

He mentioned that the Packers game made them look within and train like a beast to get through the adversities as early as possible. ” I can tell you I knew that this was coming,” Prescott told the reporters.“The preparation and the focus and honestly, the way that the defense I saw I practice those guys 100 miles per hour, and I say oh, this is gonna be tough for them for the guys on the other side just in the way that they were attacking the way that their focus was obviously talking to them and communicating with them.” Prescott praised the defense, detailing how they prepared ahead of the match-up.

Apart from the defense, other units shined too. Placekicker Brett Maher seemed to have the best game of his career. He successfully connecting for all eight attempts, four field goals, and four extra points.

When it comes to the RB position, it was a contest between Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard, who added two touchdowns each, with Pollard recording 5.3 yards per carry and Elliott 2.3. Pollard’s explosiveness bolstered the Offensive unit, helping them to run the ball till the final minutes.

“We knew we needed to respond after last week … If we can continue to do this, this team can be special,” Prescott mentioned after the game. With this win, the Cowboys are placed second in the NFC East and will face New York Giants on Thursday.
