Dallas Cowboys’ franchise quarterback might be replaced. With Trey Lance joining the Cowboys following the San Francisco 49ers trade, prevalent team dynamics might get altered.

While the reaction following the trade has been divided, some are of the opinion that the addition of Lance is going to enhance the franchise quarterback’s performance, while others feel he might soon get replaced. Cowboys superfan Skip Bayless, like many others, put their trust in a rising star quarterback.

2nd quarterback is far better than Trey Lance
Previous Super Bowl after Dak Prescott was replaced after fracturing his throwing thumb, the star second quarterback who filled in for him, stole the show. Cooper Rush was served five straight starts and absolutely outdid himself, drawing an immense amount of attention and praise from fans and analysts alike.
Like everyone else, First Take commentator, sports analyst, and lifelong Cowboys fan Skip Bayless took note. In a recent Tweet, he declared his support for the Cowboys’ second quarterback over their new acquisition.
“I remain a big believer in Cooper Rush,” stated Bayless. He justifies his statement by drawing reference to the second quarterback’s performance the previous year-“He operated the offense more effectively than Dak did last year.”

I remain a big believer in Cooper Rush. He operated the offense more effectively than Dak did last year. Right now I’d trust CRush far more to win 3 or 4 games as the backup than I’d trust Trey Lance.

Based on this analogy he ended his Tweet by saying, “Right now I’d trust CRush far more to win 3 or 4 games as the backup than I’d trust Trey Lance.”

The race for Cowboys’ franchise QB begins
In an interesting tweet by Skip Bayless that followed, he was able to shed considerable light on the path Skip Bayless might be moving towards “Now, clearly, Jerry Jones is hoping he just stole the next Dak, for only a 4th rounder, same round in which they took Dak.”

This is so weird for me. On Undisputed, I was a big Trey Lance fan BEFORE HIS DRAFT. In my wildest dreams, I could not have imagined him being a Cowboy. Now, clearly, Jerry Jones is hoping he just stole the next Dak, for only a 4th rounder, same round in which they took Dak.

Trey Lance was Relegated to No. 3 in San Francisco, which prompted him to find better opportunities elsewhere that facilitated his chances of becoming No. 2. At Cowboys he is not only going to be playing closely with veteran quarterback Dak Prescott but also gain the opportunity of replacing him when the right opportunity arises.
However, he will be challenged by Cooper Rush. Rush has 19 regular-season appearances, 11 more than Lance. With almost identical passer ratings between Rush and Lance, 84.9 and 84.5 respectively, it all really boils down to experience- which Rush exceeds.

Regardless of who between Rush and Lance is truly better, either of them gets to start only if the Cowboys’ veteran quarterback is absent. But what if Dak Prescott fancies a trade elsewhere in the near future? The real quest for prominence will then commence.
