Tom Brady is arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history. And he finally said goodbye to his more than two-decade-long career earlier this month. Brady had an unprecedented career filled with epic tales of wins and comebacks. However, the journey of his retirement has been a roller coaster ride. Here is the legendary QB’s emotional retirement explained in 400 words.

This is the second time that Brady has said goodbye to the football field. He changed his mind the first time, so the emotional goodbye holds even more significance than before.

Tom Brady announced that he will end his career in an emotional video message to the fans earlier this month. And in that video, he said he wanted to keep it short as he used his emotional essay the last time he announced his retirement.

” You only get one super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year. So, I really thank you guys so much. To every single one of you for supporting me,” Brady said in the video.

The announcement came one year after he first decided to end his storied career. But the seven-time Super Bowl champion changed his mind in just 40 days to come back and play another season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But the 2022 season took an immense toll on him, with the QB struggling both on and off the field.

The end of a storied career

The Tom Brady fairytale began with the 2000 NFL draft where the New England Patriots picked him up 199th overall. Since becoming the starter for Bill Belichick’s side, the kid from San Mateo became the face of football around the world. He won six Super Bowl titles with the Patriots in his two decades at Foxborough.

In 2020, he switched to the Buccaneers and won a Super Bowl the same season. Two seasons later, he drew curtains on his life on the gridiron after giving 23 years of his life to it. He changed the way fans look at football.
