Gisele Bündchen once recalled a month full of trauma

Gisele Bündchen is very close to her twin sister Patricia. But there was a time when the supermodel almost lost her. Bündchen recalled a traumatizing period of a month when she didn’t know if her sister would live due to pneumonia. According to her, she couldn’t even grasp fully the thought of Pati, as she lovingly calls her, being so close to death.

“Having a twin sister is like growing up with your own personal measuring stick or thermometer. That became even clearer to me when Pati at age ten was diagnosed with double pneumonia, and the doctors weren’t sure if she would live. I was traumatized. The thought of Pati being close to death was so terrible that I couldn’t even fully grasp it. She was in intensive care for almost a month, but to me it felt like an eternity,” Bündchen wrote in her memoir ‘Lessons: My Path yo a Meaningful Life’.

The Brazilian native and her sister were both just 10 at the time. While Patricia was able to recover after a month, this period left a lasting impression on Gisele’s memory.
