The Vikings’ quarterback talked to the Minneapolis Star Tribune for the very first time after signing a one-year contract extension. He tried to support opening up more cap room so that he could put together a squad that they can satisfy with. Cousins also believes this was an approach to generate a win-win outcome, that will eventually result in many victories this fall.
Moreover, he discloses to the press that his goals with the Vikings go beyond; He wishes to retire wearing the purple and gold jersey.

Cousins will make $40 million in 2022 as well as $30 million in 2023, according to ESPN. He will also earn $50 million of the $70 million by mid-March 2023, with the rest being guaranteed. He will receive nearly $231.7 million throughout his career by the end of his 2023 campaign.

Last season’s problems were on defense. This is where the revamped Vikings management has concentrated their offseason initiatives to change. The franchise is staying with Kirk, for the time being, tendering him to a contract deal till 2023. With Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, Dalvin Cook, and an arguably better offensive line, it positions the Vikings to be the prime contenders in the NFC.
