Tampa Bay Buccaneers star tight end Rob Gronkowski recently announced his retirement this week. Previously, Gronkowski, after winning the Super Bowl in 2019, had announced that he will be walking off the field. But the TE made a comeback and played two seasons with the Buccaneers. Now, as he is officially retired again, is there any chance he might unretire mid-season to play for the Bucs again?
Rob Gronkowski’s agent Drew Rosenhaus on The Pat McAfee Show talked about Gronk making a comeback in the NFL. He said, “I kind of asked him, like, look if Tom calls week ten and says, Ross, I need your baby come back, like, what do you say to that? And I got the sense that the answer remains no. It’s 33 years old, but he has done this before. I wouldn’t be shocked, per se, if he came back for the end of the season.”

There is hope, and even Gronks’ agent thinks he might play football again. Gronkowski shares a friendly relationship with Tom Brady and the two played together for ten years. When Gronk decided to retire after the 2018 season, it was Brady who talked him out of the retirement.
So, Rosenhaus thinks, if Brady needs his favorite TE on his side, then Gronk might think to enter the football field again. Although, there are fewer chances, as Gronk seemed more content this time.

Rosenhaus further explains why Gronk took his decision to retire. He said, “Over the last ten years, he’s been through a lot from a health standpoint. When he came out of college, he had a broken back out of Arizona. He slipped into the draft. He’s had a ton of issues with head injuries, and I think he does feel content.”
Gronkowski has played 11 seasons in the NFL and is a 4x Super Bowl champ. He has won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and one while playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. All along, he had many injuries and has finally decided to pursue another career outside of football.
