Prescott’s re-signing was a big deal for the Cowboys, who struggled without him due to his injury last year. But it seems like Prescott is well on the road to recovery ahead of the new NFL season.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared a crucial update on Dak Prescott. He noted that the Dallas Cowboys star is looking good in his recovery process.

His ankle injury was severe enough to warrant two surgeries rather than just the one, therefore the recovery is a little more complex. After several major and minor procedures, it seems like Prescott is recuperating well.

“We saw the video right there, great sign for the Cowboys and Dak Prescott, who’s coming along really well from his ankle rehab.

“Remember, this is from not just one surgery but two surgeries, with his second, more minor surgery stabilizing the ankle ligament and, from the people I’ve spoken with, essentially speeding up and making sure his rehab is secure.”

Rapoport delivered further good news to Cowboys fans when he noted that the quarterback would be ready for training camp.

However, they will not rush him back under any circumstances. Prescott’s health takes priority over everything else. Rapoport noted that he should be out on the training field come camp day, but he won’t be putting himself at risk.

“Here’s my understanding of where it stands: He’s expected to be ready to go for training camp but they are not gonna put him in harm’s way.

“So, I would expect him to be out there standing on the field in the spring, assuming there is on-field work. But I wouldn’t expect him to do very much or be put at risk.”

Will Dak Prescott be ready to go next season? He will be eager to make a strong start to the season after his last outing ended so abruptly for him.

Prescott will want to prove to his detractors wrong and show why the Cowboys were smart to pay him every penny that they did. For Prescott, this season is career-defining, as he has a lot to prove to the entire world.
