Just a year ago, the entire sporting world came to a standstill at the news of Pittsburg Steelers QB Dwayne Haskins passing away. As per reports at the time, Haskins was hit by a truck while walking on the highway. Apparently, the 24-year-old QB got out of his car and attempted to cross the highway on foot when a truck came in and rammed into him from the side. The impact was fatal enough to claim the young phenom’s life on the spot. Recently, a video has reappeared of the incident which is making fans tearful.

While several questions about Haskins’ mysterious death remain unanswered, recent developments suggest some foul play in action. Amidst all the ongoing chaos that Haskins’ family has to deal with, a certain video remembering the Griese–Brees Quarterback of the Year got NFL fans all choked up.

It has been a year

Over the course of his life, Dwayne Haskins has touched the lives of many. At the time of his death, Haskins was in Florida training with the team. It is also reported that Haskins may have gotten into a tussle at a club with a man he reportedly knew. The two got into an altercation, following which Haskins left and somehow ended up on the interstate.

The sudden nature of his passing touched the hearts of many including Former ESPN SportsCenter Anchor, Darren M. Hayes. The 9th of April marked Haskins’ one-year death anniversary and Hayes honored his memories by sharing an old interaction between the two.

During the video, Haskins can be seen ruffling through his cabinet looking for a football as a visibly nervous Hayes looks on. Eventually, Haskins chooses a particular ‘road ball’, while Hayes hopes to make the catch.

I better not drop that ball,” said Hayes pointing at the camera, “My high school coach, my college coach, all of y’all, If I drop this ball I am blaming all of you guys,” added Hayes jokingly.

Fortunately for Hayes, he did make the catch, but the highlight was the jovial and playful nature of Haskins. The two made a couple of passes between them, before running the old stretch right. Hayes even shared some of his wisdom, as Haskins continually made fun of his ‘church’ shoes.

The wholesome moment shared by the two was enough to get every NFL fan teary-eyed, but the music seemed to have dealt the final blow.

Passed on but not forgotten

Despite Haskins meeting his untimely demise, the NFL world still remembers ‘Simba’. Several NFL fans joined Darren M. Hayes in remembering and celebrating the times and life of Dwayne Haskins.

One fan even recalled the horrific night, the unfortunate event happened, “Damn, I was in Tampa that day when the interstate was shut down and diverted because of the tragedy.

While another felt Haskins was too young to pass on to the next life.

Another fan appreciated the joy and heart that Simba embodied.

The tragic passing of Haskins still continues to haunt many, especially his family who seek justice actively. His wife is actively seeking the answers to many of the mysteries surrounding his untimely demise, and she is backed up by all the loyal Steelers fans as well as the entire NFL community.
