During the video, Haskins can be seen ruffling through his cabinet looking for a football as a visibly nervous Hayes looks on. Eventually, Haskins chooses a particular ‘road ball’, while Hayes hopes to make the catch.
“I better not drop that ball,” said Hayes pointing at the camera, “My high school coach, my college coach, all of y’all, If I drop this ball I am blaming all of you guys,” added Hayes jokingly.
Fortunately for Hayes, he did make the catch, but the highlight was the jovial and playful nature of Haskins. The two made a couple of passes between them, before running the old stretch right. Hayes even shared some of his wisdom, as Haskins continually made fun of his ‘church’ shoes.
The wholesome moment shared by the two was enough to get every NFL fan teary-eyed, but the music seemed to have dealt the final blow.
Passed on but not forgotten
Despite Haskins meeting his untimely demise, the NFL world still remembers ‘Simba’. Several NFL fans joined Darren M. Hayes in remembering and celebrating the times and life of Dwayne Haskins.
One fan even recalled the horrific night, the unfortunate event happened, “Damn, I was in Tampa that day when the interstate was shut down and diverted because of the tragedy.”
