Free agent Odell Beckham Jr. is inching closer to deciding on his next destination in the NFL. Till yesterday, the Dallas Cowboys looked like the answer to the question of the wide receiver’s probable team to return to the league. However, new updates have emerged and that may not be the best news for Dallas fans.

Dallas Cowboys owner, and President Jerry Jones, isn’t as enthusiastic about the Odell prospect as he was a week ago. The billionaire owner had previously said that he would love to see OBJ sport the Cowboys star on his helmet. However, things have significantly changed since the latter’s official visit to Dallas. And it’s got to do with Odell’s injuries.

The Rams came out on top with a championship over Joe Burrow and the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. However, the franchise lost its star wide receiver to an injury mid-game. And Odell has not completely recovered from that injury at the SoFi Stadium in February 2022. The injury recovery received more attention during the physicals Odell Beckham Jr. took during his visit with the Dallas Cowboys.

According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, OBJ’s torn left ACL injury recovery hasn’t progressed enough for him to be available right away. Odell is not expected to come back until mid-January. So, he will probably be of no service to the Cowboys till the next NFL season. And Jerry Jones isn’t happy about the recent developments at all. “I’m not confident at all. And so that’s the issue,” Jones said.

Odell Beckham Jr. raised Dallas’ hopes when he showed up at the Dallas Mavericks-Phoenix Suns game. He was accompanied by Cowboys defensive LB Micah Parsons and CB Trevon Diggs. However, after the concerning news, OBJ’s former team, the New York Giants, have once again taken the lead in the race for the WR. The Buffalo Bills aren’t completely out of the discussion either, but the lure of a long-term contract can bring the 3x Pro Bowler to the Big Apple.
