The NFL athletes are nothing less than fighters. Despite the injury scare, they deliver the best games of their careers. One of them is Ryan Clark, who has had a lot of injury troubles. But he offered a Super Bowl-worthy performance. However, the Ex-Steelers athlete had an unusual condition which could be a severe problem in high-altitude areas. But Mike Tomlin made the save.

During the Pivot Podcast, Mike Tomlin and Ryan Clark get candid upon a legion of conversations. It included Brian Flores hiring, moving on without Ben Roethlisberger, and more. Center Clark then described an incident over his sickle cell trait, which does not perform well at high altitudes like Denver. He mentioned the line Tomlin said, which he would remain grateful for in life.

Ryan Clark recalled, “If you were my kid, i wouldn’t even be having this conversation.” Tomlin then said, “The last time we were in Denver, this dude almost died. Now I got to leave my head down at night. Like, it goes back to that point like how can you expect unique results man without unique relationships man? It was my job to care about that dude in that moment, even maybe more so than he cared about himself. That’s leadership, right?”

Ryan Clark has had a lot of injury issues throughout his career. Apart from the cell trait, in 2005, he experienced abdominal pain. Then in 2007, his sickness worsened, and he was diagnosed with splenic infarction.

The choice made by Mike Tomlin to protect Ryan Clark from a severe threat kept the Steelers athlete’s life away from risk. If the league followed well, the athlete’s injury risk could eventually cut some worries among the NFL athletes. Butor Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered a hit to the head but still came to play during the Bills game. Questions surrounding concussion care have inevitably risen.

Tua Tagovailoa faced the second concussion during the Bengals game when the defense made a ruthless sack. The QB1 was in an alarming position and was rushed into the medical facility. The QB1 is safe and went back to Miami. However, the NFLPA is looking into a policy infraction.
