The Seattle Seahawks swooped in and flew away with a free agent, but with a hefty price tag. He has been offered what most players of his standing just dream of. The deal might be part of the Seahawks coach’s desire for a “dynamic team” at the end of the 2022 season. Gregg Rosenthal included the pick as the seventh-best free agent on his top 101 list. The 26-year-old DE had his most outstanding performance so far last season, achieving 6.5 sacks, and 10 quarterback hits, he also reached a personal high of 47 tackles all in just 13 games.

Who’s the mystery agent?

Dre’Mont Jones has quite possibly hit the jackpot of his career so far. He has apparently been offered a $51 million paycheck, vested over three years. The deal offers $23.5 million in the first year of the contract and $35.02 million in the subsequent two years. It is the most expensive deal the Seahawks have offered to a free agent under the leadership of Carroll/John Schneider. The hefty paycheck leaves Uchenna Nwosu’s $9.5 million annual compensation offered last season, in the dust.

Is Dre’Mont Jones a good pick for the Hawks?

Even though the pass rush win rate of their alleged new super agile, yet heavy defender stands sixth in the queue, he is still a win-win for the Hawks at the price he is coming into their kettle. Not to forget his contribution will be highly valued as they are in desperate need of someone in the front seven. His exceptional ability to break through the line of scrimmage complements the Seattle Seahawks’ defense from last season, which stood at number seven with 45 sacks.
