Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Arizona Cardinals signal-caller Kyler Murray are a few of the emerging talents setting their mark in the NFL world. While Murray has bagged a lucrative extension from the Cardinals this Thursday, fans have started speculating a similar one for Jackson. Although he aspires to become a Super Bowl champion one day, veterans of the game believe he has a long way ahead to win the title.

Recently, the Broncos Legend Shannon Sharpe, along with Skip Bayless, discussed why Lamar Jackson would make more money than Kyler Murray. At the same time, Sharpe thinks Jackson is not a Super Bowl-winning quarterback yet. “The bottom line is you’ve said many times on the show you’re not sold on Lamar as a Super Bowl quarterback, right?” Bayless asked Sharpe, to which he replied, “Yeah.”

However, the Broncos star understands that as an outsider it is hard to predict, and anyone who knows Jackson better is the Ravens management and the front office.

“You have had him for five years now. You know what he is. And if anybody knows Lamar Jackson is, it’s the Baltimore Ravens and that front office, you gotta jump and hope to shoot open.” Sharpe explained, saying that nobody knows what will happen in the future.

As per the recent reports, Kyler Murray has signed a five-year, $230.5 million contract, earning him an average per year of $46.1 million.

This deal also made him the second quarterback after Packers’ Aaron Rodgers, who signed a $50 million AAV deal this off-season. So, naturally, Lamar Jackson is next on the table with better records and is expected to earn more.

How good is Lamar Jackson compared to Kyler Murray?

The 25-year-old Ravens quarterback is entering the final season of his rookie contract. He was selected as No 32 overall in the 2018 NFL draft and holds an impeccable record of 32-12 as a starter. Jackson has passed for 9,967 yards with 84 touchdowns in the past four seasons.

He is also known for registering 31 interceptions and at the same time, boasts of an impressive 3,673 rushing yards. Jackson also led the offensive side in the playoffs three times in his career with a postseason win. He also registered two Pro-Bowl selections and was named 2019 NFL MVP.

On the other side, Murray records 22-23-1 in the past three seasons as a starter. He has passed for 11,480 yards with 70 touchdowns and has made a single playoff appearance. Although Murray was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2019, he doesn’t have MVP awards to his name.

While Jackson has a clear edge over Murray, Sharpe says, “I think Lamar Jackson is looking at something 110, 115, maybe 120 at the time of signing, maybe 200 and at least 200 million guaranteed.” Now, time will let us know what would be served on Jackson’s platter.
