After his dominant season as Matthew Stafford’s go-to weapon during the team’s Super Bowl-winning campaign. Cooper Kupp, a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams got his well-deserving playoff MVP title. Cooper Kupp’s continuously superb 2021 story concludes in spectacular form. Although, will it be fair to address him as the ‘Michael Irvin’ of the modern era?

The Los Angeles Rams put it all on the line to win the Super Bowl this year. They added Von Miller, Odell Beckham Jr., and Matthew Stafford to their roster to help them fight back. Cooper Kupp, on the other hand, seems to be the Rams’ and possibly one of the NFL’s best athletes this season. The athlete has already been fantastic for a considerable period of time, but this year, with Los Angeles Rams, he’s been even better.

Cooper Kupp and Michael Irvin: Head to Head

Only Michael Irvin has 12 different 100-yard receiving performances in an NFL season; totaling 750 receptions for 11,904 yards and 65 touchdowns for the Dallas Cowboys. However, in the Rams’ 30-27 triumph over the Buccaneers, Kupp exploded for 183 yards and one score. This led him to tie the all-time record.

WR Cooper joins Jerry Rice (San Francisco 49ers, 1990), Sterling Sharpe (Green Bay Packers, 1992), and Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers, 2005), the last player to win a triple crown before Kupp, as the only athletes to do that since 1970.

In 2021, the Los Angeles Rams have unquestionably struck gold. Cooper Kupp’s comeback was clearly a pleasant treat. When Kupp hasn’t been able to make the playoffs, the club has suffered a great deal. Even after Odell Beckham Jr. was hurt during the Super Bowl, the athlete played a vital role. Each season, he excelled in speed and quickness, shielding, and, most importantly, intercepting the pass.

While many teams make several huge agreements, Cooper Kupp is yet to sign a contract that mirrors his abilities. He’s only under contract until 2023, and the pay scale for the NFL’s highest-paid receivers is increasing. It would appear to become the optimal time for the Rams to re-sign their 28-year-old.

Cooper Kupp’s supremacy throughout the NFL in 2021 is well-documented. In terms of catches, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns, the WR leads the NFL. He is just 28, yet he has become some extraordinary quality for a wide receiver. As he moves forward in his career, he will be able to set the benchmark, becoming the new-gen Michael Irvin, or developing himself into ‘The Cooper Kupp’ in the future.
