Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen is admired by many for her hard work and steaming looks. However, even she was not spared when it comes to harsh criticism. She once opened up about the criticism she received during her teenage years in the industry.

The 42-year-old is one the highest-paid models in the world. The former Victoria’s Secret model retired from the runway in 2015. Bündchen is now a mother of two, Benjamin, aged 12 and Vivian, aged 9, with ex-husband Tom Brady.

Gisele Bündchen revealed the criticism she faced

Bündchen is perhaps one of the most famous models in the world. She has had a very successful career.

In an interview, in 2016, Bündchen revealed some of the harsh criticism she received in the industry at a very young age.

“I remember some people telling me my nose was too big or my eyes were too small, that I could never be on a magazine cover,” she said in an interview with People magazine. “It wasn’t easy to be 14 and hear that kind of criticism. It made me feel insecure.”

She mentioned that her father asked her to reply to such statements with a retort that said her big nose came with a big personality. The model also stated that she felt weird because she was taller and looked more mature than girls of her age.

But, Bündchen found exceptional success. She spoke of hard work and discipline that was inculcated in her from a young age in her memoir. She carries them with her even today.

Bündchen’s divorce from Tom Brady

Bündchen and Tom Brady ended 13 years of marriage. The couple recently announced the finalization of their divorce. The duo put out individual statements on their respective social media handles. Their statements emphasized that the split was amicable. Co-parenting their children is the way forward according to the former couple.

Although Bündchen has not made any comments regarding the situation since posting the announcement, Brady spoke of it in his podcast. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB revealed that his focus remains on being a  good father to his children. And also winning games on the field.

Brady also posted a picture with his two children in their Halloween costumes.

Brady and Bundchen’s split has been circulating within the NFL world for months now. In their statements, the former star couple requested privacy during this difficult time.
