“It Would Crush Me”: Tom Brady Once Revealed the Truth Behind ‘Missing Parties’ to Play Golf With His Dad

The most celebrated quarterback of all time has a super supportive father. Tom Brady and Tom Brady Sr. have an adorable relationship that fans have seen throughout the years. It was Brady Sr. who inculcated the value of competitiveness. In the spirit of their competitive nature, they made a weekly pact.

Tom Brady Sr. was always there in the stands to watch his son throw the ball. When TB12 was in high school, his father made a weekly ritual. On Saturday, the father would watch his son play his football games, and then on Sunday, the two would play golf together. Brady Sr. would wake his son up early in the morning so that they could play. However, to play with his father, the young shot-caller had to sacrifice something that every teen did.

I’d wake up early on the weekends to do stuff with my dad. That’s why I didn’t party a lot. If Dad wanted to golf, I wanted to be there with him. And if I ever missed those things, it would crush me,” he said.

Tom Brady broke into tears

Tom Brady Sr. had a major influence on his star QB son. The father of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB was so heartbroken (yet happy) when his son left to attend the University of Michigan that he sought to counsel to help him cope. Brady Sr’s separation anxiety was so serious that he attended eight weeks of psychological counseling. How cute is their relationship!

Tampa Tom reciprocated the same emotions when he talked about his lovely father in the ESPN’s docuseries, ‘Man in the Arena.’

The seven-time Super Bowl champ, who is known for his aggressive nature, wept while talking about his father. “When I think about being a dad, I think of him,” said Brady while talking about his dad. “I know I’m not as good a dad to my kids that my dad’s been to me,” he went on. “I use him as my example of how to keep a family together and to care, to support, and how to love.”

The 45-year-old shares a son, John Edward, with his ex-girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan. Tom Brady also has two children, Benjamin rein, and Vivian Lake, with his soon-to-be ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. However, now after they filed their divorce, it is to be seen if the couple opts for joint custody or not. Although, both individuals maintain their children are their prime priority.
