Deion Sanders has been making a lot of ground as head coach. After leading Jackson State University to two back-to-back Southwester Athletic Conference championships, the NFL icon will be moving to Colorado. He will be taking over as the head coach of the Colorado University football program. Many would be happy for prime time to take a tremendous step like this. However, there are those who can not get over the coach’s decision to leave an HBCU, especially those connected to the university.

It appears that the students at JSU are really finding it hard to cope with the unexpected departure of Sanders. In a recent video which has been going viral online, we can see a JSU student defacing a mural dedicated to coach prime. While the mural gets wiped off of a window, the student also shouts some indecent words for Sanders as well. Apart from the video itself, there has not been any update over who the student was or if they were punished for their actions.

Deion Sanders move to Colorado University

Coach Prime went to JSU three years ago and has since changed their trajectory. In the past three seasons, the team accumulated a 26-5 record. While they won the previous 2 championships, they also went unbeaten this season. Sanders even won the honours of the SWAC Coach of the Year in consecutive seasons. Even though the former Super Bowl champion entered JSU without much experience, he did enough to create a serious chatter about his coaching.

Following months of speculation over a move to a bigger college, Sanders announced he would be joining the Colorado Buffaloes. CU is a part of the Pac-12 conference which is already a step up for the 55-year-old. “Now that I’ve gotten here and I see and I can understand it and I can grasp it, and I can feel it and I can touch it and I can taste it. I truly understand what you want,” Sanders said over his switch to CU. “All you want is an opportunity to win. To compete, to dominate. To be among the elite, to be among the best. And darn it, I’m gonna give you that.”
