Former NFL legendary cornerback Deion Sanders is well known for his toughness and physical endurance. The 54-year-old head coach of the Jackson State University was recorded giving an inspiring message to his young team of athletes. The video was from last fall before Sanders was to undergo surgery on a dislocated toe injury and he delivered it while on a hospital bed.

The clip was part of the latest episode of Barstool Sports and SMAC Productions’ Coach Prime. It follows his journey in Mississippi while coaching the players. The recording was seen by the players during a team meeting, with the Hall of Famer explaining how he did end up in the hospital.

The surgery that the former Cowboys CB was undergoing involves a procedure to repair a football-caused toe deformity.

While encouraging his players with a rallying cry and demanding more, he states, “Fellas, let’s go get it, let’s want it, let’s believe it, that it’s real and let’s go take advantage of the opportunity that we have. Sanders underlines that even though he wouldn’t be there physically, easing off is not an option. He addresses his fellow coaches to not allow expectations to drop and maintain the standards they have set in place. The series follows the former 2-time Super Bowl champion on his journey and mission to elevate the historically black communities and universities (HBCUs).

He promises fans that he will provide behind-the-scenes access at their championship-level program. He was also hyping up the series and its episodes. It seems the project holds a lot of importance to Sanders.

The coach Prime series is produced by Sanders and Constance Schwartz-Morini of SMAC Entertainment. It is being done along with Erika Nardini, Sean Loughlin, and Dana Bahrawy of Barstool Sports. The brand new episodes of the six-part installment of Coach Prime premieres on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8 p.m. EST till March 10, 2022.
