They even went as far as to drafting Lawrence’s Clemson teammate Travis Etienne with their second first-round pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. Brought in to add to the running game, Etienne has recently been running reps as a wide receiver as well.

But fans might have to wait for a little bit to see the duo in action together in the NFL.

Jacksonville Jaguars hoping Etienne injury is not major
During the Jacksonville Jaguars’ preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, Travis Etienne limped off with what looked like an injury. Soon after the rookie was spotted in a walking boot.

While the Jaguars lost the tie 23-21, the Jaguars have a more pressing issue on their hands if Etienne’s injury is serious.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Etienne had suffered a Lisfranc injury as per a source. Initial X-rays on the running back’s foot indicate that it might not be as serious as first imagined. But the Jaguars are taking no chances and will conduct more tests to determine the true extent of the injury.

Lisfranc injuries can take time to heal depending on its true extent. If Etienne is out for long, the Jaguars will miss a versatile running back who can offer a dual-threat.

The combination of him and 2020 breakthrough star James Robinson could cause some problems for defenses as well. But all that will have to wait because at least for the near future it seems the team will be without Etienne’s services.
