The 2021 NFL season has the potential to be a big one in the history of the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise. Landing generational quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the draft, the side is looking to establish itself as a dynasty in the years to come.

Alongside first-time NFL head coach Urban Meyer, the franchise which is yet to reach a Super Bowl has its sights set on changing that soon. The franchise is doing all it can to ensure that Trevor Lawrence gets what he wants to get acclimatized to the offense.

They even went as far as to drafting Lawrence’s Clemson teammate Travis Etienne with their second first-round pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. Brought in to add to the running game, Etienne has recently been running reps as a wide receiver as well.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Etienne had suffered a Lisfranc injury as per a source. Initial X-rays on the running back’s foot indicate that it might not be as serious as first imagined. But the Jaguars are taking no chances and will conduct more tests to determine the true extent of the injury.

Lisfranc injuries can take time to heal depending on its true extent. If Etienne is out for long, the Jaguars will miss a versatile running back who can offer a dual-threat.

The combination of him and 2020 breakthrough star James Robinson could cause some problems for defenses as well. But all that will have to wait because at least for the near future it seems the team will be without Etienne’s services.
