The situation surrounding this year’s NFL season was shrouded in mystery back in June/July 2020. There were doubts surrounding the league’s strategy with regards to the raging coronavirus pandemic. However, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and his team of professionals ensured that things went smoothly over the course of the last four months. Coach Mike McCarthy’s boys are still in the mix for the NFC East title as we approach Week 17 of the regular season. But a recent study from the Nielsen Group goes to show how popular the team actually is among the masses. Their massive fan following was evident after five of their games made the cut for the 50-most watched live events in 2020. Overall 69 matches from this season made the Top 100 list. But the Cowboys stood out from the rest by a hefty margin.
The Cowboys’ fate rests in their hands as they go up against a determined New York Giants outfit in Week 17. Both teams have an outside shot at winning their respective division, as do Ron Rivera’s Washington Football Team. Tempers will be raging as the Cowboys seek revenge for the previous loss to the Giants in Week 5. Coincidentally that was the same game which saw star QB Dak Prescott suffer a season-ending double compound fracture.
