Jerry Jones has revealed at the Annual Owners’ Meeting in Florida that Michael Gallup might not recover from his ACL injury until the start of the season. The Cowboys Owners said it might even bleed into the season and Gallup might have to miss a couple of games or more. He will at least be questionable for the time being.

According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, Jerry Jones revealed the status of Gallup’s injury. The Billionaire Owner said, “Optimistically, I expect him to give us a question mark around the first game. And I see a conversation that says conservatively, you would like to have a couple more games to get him out there.”

The Cowboys just signed Michael Gallup to an extension for a whopping $62.5 million. Gallup will be their highest-paid WR but not the first option. Rookie Sensation CeeDee Lamb will have to step up to the challenge. Lamb will be taking the charge in the WR room, and all of the defenses will be focusing on him. How well he does when all of the limelight is on him, remains to be seen.

Although the Cowboys have had a very eventful off-season, they have arguably not come out better than they were this time around last year. Still, the fans will have high expectations from their team. The continuous support for America’s Team continues to keep them in the Super Bowl discussions, but none of them might be serious ones.

Jerry Jones has faith in his Cowboys

The Owner disagrees. When asked what his take would be on the team’s off-season, Jerry Jones said, “This time last year, we didn’t have Micah Parsons. But yet, we got better. …I like where we are right now (compared) to this time last year.”

They have serious holes in their roster. And their Running Back situation is one of the most complicated ones in the league. Free Agency has not been their strong suit in the last decade. And drafted talent has not always panned out like imagined. All in all, the last few years have not been the best for the Dallas Cowboys. Yet, we do not see much improvement from the previous year.
