Few relationships in football are as strong as that of an offensive coordinator and a quarterback. This story is about that bond. In the early month of this year, the New York Jets hired former Denver Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett. Some days later, they selected his closest friend, and the Hall of Fame QB, Aaron Rodgers, too.

Hackett served as an offensive coordinator for Green Bay Packers from 2019 to 2021, where Rodgers also worked with him. Together, these two brilliant individuals worked tirelessly to achieve new heights and create a perfect offensive side during the matches. After the 2023 NFL drafts, they came together once again in the Jets to write some history. During a recent interview with host Eric Allen, Hackett shared his personal experience during his time with the Packers and Aaron Rodgers, recalling their chemistry.

Recalling his experience in 2020 and 2021, Hackett said that Rodgers, Devante Adams, Bobby Toney, and Alan Lazar were playing exceptionally well. He believes 2021 was as great as 2020, however, it was not that dramatic. Hackett continued that in 2021, Matt LaFleur and Rodgers did a great job. He also appreciated the game planning of those years and continued, “……those were two amazing years, I wish they would have ended with the trophy.”

When the host asked him about Rodgers’ impressive stat, Hackett replied, “I think that year it was 48 touchdowns. I think it might have been 5 interceptions.” He also added, “The beauty of Aaron is his ability to see the defense and understanding why we’re attacking, how we’re attacking. He wants to be aggressive with efficiency. I think he is That to a Tee.” The 43-year-old said that Rodgers, despite being unbelievably aggressive, takes smart decisions and knows when and when not to take a risk.

Hackett is one of the reasons for Rodgers’ liking the Jets
