It is a big question whether Jimmy Garoppolo will stay with the San Francisco 49ers or find a new landing spot. However, the young quarterback Trey Lance taking charge of the team seems imminent. Even before starting a single game in the 2022 season, tight end George Kittle has vested his faith in the 21-year-old.

For the question, of who will lead the team after Garoppolo’s departure, the Niners made a smart decision by choosing Trey Lance in the previous year’s draft. His co-players have already started heaping praises for the young quarterback.

George Kittle is ready to receive passes from Trey Lance

Since the beginning of this year’s off-season, things have changed for the San Francisco 49ers. It seems things are not falling in place for the team. Earlier, Jimmy Garoppolo was a hot trade bait in the initial phases, but he seems to have lost the ability to lure the franchises to his court. “I think Jimmy is a fantastic leader — we almost won a Super Bowl, NFC champions twice in three seasons. And then you look at Trey Lance, who I think has one of the highest ceilings I’ve ever seen before. Some of the things you see him do on the football field, and you’re like, ‘Holy cow, I can’t wait ’til he throws me passes.’” Kittle said on the podcast.

Moreover, the veteran also mentioned that he is quite happy to play with either of them and has no quarterback in preference. “So, you know, I want whoever’s going to be the better quarterback this season. And it is a business at the end of the day. I do trust [49ers coach] Kyle Shanahan to pick the best quarterback. I don’t have a preference, I don’t. I like them both, they’re both good guys. They both bring different things to the table.” Kittle added to his statements
