Trey Lance the go-to QB during Jimmy Garoppolo’s absence

Jimmy Garoppolo has been dealing with his right leg calf injury, comprising a contusion and muscle strain. On being asked if he would be all clear by Sunday, he replied he would not be 100 percent. He would have to battle through the pain and discomfort.

All trends point to Trey Lance being the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers for the first time. This is a now or never kind of situation for Lance as he could make or break his reputation as an impactful young quarterback.

He could regain the glory of his team by winning their Week 5 match against the Cardinals and thus reviving their spot in the NFC West division race.
