There’s no argument that the San Francisco 49ers became one of the most newsworthy teams this offseason. Deebo Samuel’s trade request stunned the NFL community and left the 49ers in a difficult situation as the NFL Draft approaches in a few weeks. Now, Jimmy Garoppolo seems to have the back of his favorite target.

The uncertainty over the fate of Jimmy G and Deebo Samuel continues. The franchise lingers to keep the conundrum going. Kyle Shanahan’s decision to use the athlete as a combination RB and WR appears to have disappointed him; as seen by the trade request. The 49ers know how important Samuel is to their offense, as they are keeping the last call in code.

Will the 49ers lose Jimmy Garoppolo and Deebo Samuel?

Deebo Samuel and Jimmy Garoppolo are the two guys attracting the most attention this summer. The quarterback’s and wide receiver’s rapport haven’t eroded, and they seem to be the best of pals.

Jimmy G has spoken extensively regarding his respect for compatriot WR Samuel, the great snapper who calls for a transfer, in an exclusive conversation with FanSided’s Mark Carman on the ‘Stacking The Box‘ podcast. We see QB Jimmy with his father, Tony Garoppolo, in conversation.

Garoppolo said when asked about a hypothetical full package with Samuel, “I would do that in a heartbeat. Those things will take care of themselves, but I didn’t even think of that idea. That’s not bad.”

The Niners would have to examine whether they ought to revere Samuel’s appeal, as doubtful as it may appear. Garoppolo has indeed been reluctant to push, but pairing him alongside Samuel would allow him to be moved to another location while also generating some cap space for San Francisco. In the last year of his contract, Samuel will earn $4.89 million, while Garoppolo’s cap charge is at $26.95 million.

If a dual-package trade comprises, it would be a lifesaver for both Garoppolo and Samuel. The 31-year-old quarterback will come back to a matchday squad, this time teamed with one of the league’s best weaponry, and one with whom he is accustomed, to form the most lethal duo.
