The only bigger enigma than Tom Brady himself is the subject of his retirement and a potential comeback. It’s been on everyone’s mind ever since the February 1 announcement. This week the potential reached a fresh climax. Brady’s new ownership venture, the Las Vegas Raiders, found themselves sweating over their starting quarterback position after adversities compounded for Jimmy Garoppolo. Amid all the speculation, BetOnline made a bold prediction on their QB odds for Raider Nation.

Quarterbacks like Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick are training hard to make a far-fetched comeback to the league. However, the odds are still in Brady’s favor. Despite repeatedly announcing that he will not return to play, Tom Brady enjoys the special treatment that comes with winning seven Vince Lombardi trophies. So what does the odds table look like?

The Raiders association received a setback this week as their newly acquired quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, failed his physicals. Jimmy G also had his contract restructured to accommodate the shortcomings. This is after the former San Francisco 49ers passer underwent surgery on his left foot in March after signing with the Raiders. While normally that situation will nudge Mark Davis’ organization to look for other QBs from the league, HC Josh McDaniels could also use their future minority partner, as per offshore betting sites.

Years of Cutting Edge Questioning Not Enough to Satisfy Pat McAfee as Tom Brady Regret Still Irks Him

Tom Brady is the favorite to become the Raiders QB1 with a 2-1 odd if the franchise releases Jimmy G ahead of the 2023 season, as per BetOnline. TB12 leads Raiders backup Brian Hoyer, QB cum analyst Matt Ryan, and former Eagles passer Nick Foles. Also featured on the list are Carson Wentz, Heisman winner Cam Newton, and QB turned activist Colin Kaepernick. The Raiders were the only franchise that provided a workout for Kaepernick ever since he became a free agent in 2017, as per PFF.

As per Spotrac, Jimmy Garoppolo’s adjusted contract stipulates that the 31-year-old must pass his physicals before Week 1 if he wishes to secure his $33.75 million contract. However, Jimmy G’s unavailability doesn’t necessarily open the door for TB12. If Brady wants to don the famed silver and black next season, he may have to delay his NFL ownership plans because of a significant conflict of interest.

Brady will find it hard to convince the rest of the team owners

Brady’s minority partnership with the Las Vegas Raiders is pending league review, as per Mark Davis’ statement. The former NE Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback will primarily hold a passive marketing role to tap the full potential of the Las Vegas crowd. However, he won’t be allowed to quarterback the team until all other 31 team owners ratify the decision. As per league rules, minority or majority owners cannot play a ‘dual role’ unless that vote passes.
