The Cincinnati Bengals take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game on Sunday. It’s a rematch or sorts as both the teams met each other at this stage last year too. The Bengals won that game to play the Super Bowl last year and Joe Burrow wants to repeat that feat. And the city of Cincinnati has thrown its weight behind the young QB.

The Cincinnati mayor asked Burrow to take a paternity test in a hilarious proclamation as the D-Day nears. And the joke has something to do with the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.

The Cincinnati mayor Aftab Pureval issued a hilarious proclamation to his city as the Bengals prepare for the AFC championship clash. He jokingly took shots at the Chiefs and reminded them of the last time the teams met in the postseason.

“Good afternoon, Cincinnati. I have a proclamation from the desk of the mayor. Be it proclaimed whereas the Cincinnati Bengals are headed to the ‘Burrowhead’ Stadium for their second consecutive AFC championship game. Whereas in last year’s game, the Bengals scored more points than the Chiefs, resulting in a Bengals victory and a Chiefs loss,” Pureval said with a grin on his face.

Pureval then asked the Bengals QB Joe Burrow to take a paternity test to confirm something about Patrick Mahomes.

“Whereas Joseph Lee Burrow, who is 3-0 against Mahomes, has been asked by the officials to take a paternity test to confirming whether or not he’s his father. Whereas all season long, Cincinnati has been on a path of destiny, fighting it out to overcome anyone who stands between them and a Super Bowl win. And whereas Kansas City is named after its neighboring state, which is, you know, just kind of weird,” the mayor continued.

He then declared the day of the clash as the ‘they gotta play us day’ in the city of Cincinnati. The budding rivalry between the Bengals and the Chiefs is a treat for every fan. And the NFL world is hoping the game lives up to the hype.
