The crushing defeat at Super Bowl LVI might’ve brought a lot of miserable memories for Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow. The last time he ended up on a losing championship game was during his Ohio State days almost 7 years ago. The incident seems etched in his memory as it resurfaced after his recent high-profile loss.

The Bengals QB suffered the same pain when he lost the 2015 State Championship game against the Toledo Central Catholic. The game ended up with a 56-52 scoreline. It gave Burrow a taste of being on the losing side very early in his career. The result created a monstrous QB in the coming years who would become the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

It is tough to be even a player in the NFL, so winning in the league is no easy feat. It was his efforts that made it possible for a franchise to raise themselves from the dead and make the NFL playoffs.

A 31-year wait to win their first playoff game was on the checklist, which Burrow was happy to achieve. There was a genuine chance of Burrow going home against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. But lady luck and Bengals defense had other ideas and wanted the win more on the night. While talking about his past, he states, “I mean you lose the State Championship and the Super Bowl. Obviously, different media coverage but feels the same. We just have to let it fuel us and you know, like I said earlier, I am gonna at least celebrate what we did this year.
