However, one of his statements gave birth to a new rumor that stated that Wilson was recruiting him to the Denver Broncos. Taking to Twitter, the linebacker later clarified the matter to his fans.
After serving for more than ten years with the Seattle Seahawks and Russell Wilson, Wagner got recently acquired by the Los Angeles Rams. The same team, which happens to be his hometown. On the show, Wagner said Wilson asked him to join the Broncos a week before the quarterback’s trade. But the linebacker responded by saying that his heart stayed in Seattle, and he had no thoughts of getting traded. But destiny landed him up on the Rams’ roster. Fans were soon to react and started speculating about the same.
Later the same day, Wagner came forward to clarify the misconceptions brewing between the fans. “To clarify – Russ wasn’t recruiting me, just two close friends talking. We both talked about wanting to stay in Seattle. Just didn’t happen that way” Wagner tweeted on Wednesday. He referred to the conversations as ” just two close friends talking”.

Soon Wilson also made his way to join the discussion. “2 close friends & teammates that started together. Balled together. Gave everything we had every day. Together the duo made two Super Bowl appearances winning one of them. For the first time after 10 years, the Seahawks will enter the field without both these players on the roster.
Wagner vows not to keep quiet while playing against the Seahawks this season
Rams being one of the biggest rivals of the Seahawks in the West, it would be a great opportunity for the linebacker to prove his worth. Wagner has signed a five-year, $50 million with the LA Rams. On March 8, Wagner got released by the Seahawks. However, he was allegedly upset over an abrupt release without receiving prior notice from the team.

While talking to the reporters during the press conference, Wagner vented his intentions to play against the Seahawks in the upcoming season. “I’ll make sure they know where I am. It won’t be a quiet game for me,” he said to the reporters. At the same time, Wagner was happy to sign a deal with the Rams and be able to play in front of his parents.

This season, both Wilson and Wagner will begin new journeys in a new uniform. Wilson with an orange jersey for the Broncos, and Wagnor will don a blue jersey for the reigning Super Bowl Champions.
