Justin Fields Injury Update: Sorrowful News Surfaces for the Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears are preparing for their Week 16 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, but the starting quarterback Justin Fields hasn’t been seen on practice for the past two days. Although, the Bears, after losing their Week 15 matchup against the Vikings are eliminated from the playoffs. Nonetheless, their hope to end the season with a winning streak is still on.

With nothing much to lose, the Bears are heading towards Week 17 with a 4-10 record. It has not been an ideal season for the rookie but he is certainly looking forward to having a great 2022 season. However, for the time being, he is not in the shape to contribute after suffering an ankle injury.

Justin Fields picked up the injury in the second quarter of the Monday night game against the Vikings, although he did finish the game playing through the injury. Later on Wednesday, the 22-year-old quarterback told reporters, “it got worse after the game and the next morning.”

The rookie was limited on Wednesday and ultimately missed Thursday and Friday practice, hinting at being sidelined on Sunday in Seattle. Further, Fields is not the only setback for the franchise. The backup quarterback Andy Dalton also is ruled out of Sunday night’s action due to hand and groin injury.

Following which head coach Matt Nagy announced that he will be looking forward to his third-string QB Nick Foles leading the Bears offense. “We kind of had to juggle how the reps went and so, today, Nick got every rep, and that was good for him, and Nick got reps prior to this, too,” Nagy said.
