Patrick Mahomes became the latest NFL player to make TIME magazine’s list of most influential people for the year 2020. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has been grabbing headlines since becoming the first-choice in 2018. Mahomes followed that up with an even better outing in 2019. The 25-year-old Chiefs star led his team to the Super Bowl LIV Trophy last year. They beat Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers in an epic game in Miami to clinch their first Lombardi Trophy since 1970. The quarterback was also named Super Bowl MVP for his magnificent performance in the fourth quarter.

His new deal ensures that he will remain in Missouri until 2031 at least. Mahomes’ contract extension with the Chiefs is one of the biggest sporting contracts of all time, which just proves his value to the league.
