There was a major twist in the story ahead of the highly-anticipated game between Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots in Week Four. Reports emerged on Friday that one New England Patriots player tested positive for COVID-19. Later on, NFL insiders claimed that Patriots quarterback Cam Newton was the one to fall prey to the pandemic.
The game was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday. However, it was postponed to Monday evening as was confirmed by the league on their official Twitter handle last night. Patrick Mahomes and Co. will gear up to host a Cam Newton-less Patriots outfit at the Arrowhead Stadium in Week Four.

Kansas City Chiefs will now be more than confident of bagging a win heading into this Week Four clash at home. Patrick Mahomes has been phenomenal for the reigning champions this year, with 898 passing yards and nine TDs to his name after three games. The 2018 regular season MVP is in contention for the NFL MVP award along with the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson.
A strong performance against the Patriots will help further his case. The likes of TE Travis Kelce, WR Tyreek Hill, WR Mecole Hardman, and WR Sammy Watkins will be crucial for the Chiefs on Monday. Besides that, rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire will also prove to be a strong attacking threat for Andy Reid’s deadly offense.

Things have gone from bad to worse for coach Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots. The Foxborough-based franchise will be without starting quarterback Cam Newton, and many expect backup quarterback Brian Hoyer to get the nod ahead of second-year QB Jarrett Stidham.
The Pats could also be without star wide receiver Julian Edelman, who is dealing with a knee injury. Hence, the New England defense will have to be at their very best if they intend to stop the Chiefs led by the eccentric Patrick Mahomes. Defensive stalwarts Stephen Gilmore and the McCourty brothers will have a busy night at the Arrowhead Stadium tonight.

Without Cam Newton, it is tough to see the Patriots have a shot at claiming the win. Hoyer lacks the skill set to tear apart the Chiefs’ defense. The Patriots were the underdogs heading into this tie before Newton was ruled out in the first place. Without him on the roster, the Missouri-based franchise is sure to extend their unbeaten run to four games this season.
