The Rams had to choose between restructuring the contracts of players or replenishing their draft caption and improving their salary-cap situation. They chose to go with the latter. Demoff said, “From a salary cap perspective, while we have had to move on from players who helped us lift a Lombardi Trophy at SoFi Stadium, we have taken all of our salary cap pain in 2023 and project to have more than $60 million in space in 2024, the most salary cap space we have had since our move to Los Angeles.” The Rams have a slow progression with the trade window this season, as they traded CB Jalen Ramsey to the Dolphins for two first-round draft picks and TE Hunter Long.
