Dolphins’ chances, Dan Orlovsky warns

Veteran quarterback Dan Orlovsky has weighed in on the state of the AFC East division, where two teams stand out as potential Super Bowl contenders. Dan is referring to the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills, who are led by Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen, respectively. Orlovsky commended both teams for their impressive roster construction with solid defenses. “There’s two teams that are the most equipped to beat Kansas City because that’s what the season is about.” He stated: “The Bills and the Jets are unquestioned Super Bowl contenders,” per Dan Orlovsky. The quarterback talent and the defense factors make them clear favorites to compete for the Lombardi Trophy.

On the other hand, Orlovsky was less confident about the Miami Dolphins, who are still a notch below the Jets and the Bills. Orlovsky explained, “I think the Dolphins are knocking on that door. The question that everyone talks about is we gotta have Tua [Tagovailoa] healthy for the year. As much as I love Tua, it hasn’t happened.” According to Dan Orlovsky, the Dolphins have a lot of potential but their success depends on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa staying healthy throughout the season. Given Tua’s history of injury problems, it could pose a risk to the Dolphins’ chances.

Who is the best among the three?

The 2023 season stats reveal that Josh Allen is the most dangerous quarterback among the three. He has lit up the league with 4,283 yards and 35 touchdowns through the air while throwing only 14 interceptions. His stellar performance has propelled the Bills to a 12-4 record and the AFC East crown. He also boasts an impressive 91.1 PFF grade and 0.35 EPA per play, placing him among the elite QBs in the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers is a close second, as he has found new life with the Jets after a dismal 2022 season with the Packers. He has racked up 3,948 yards and 32 touchdowns with his arm while limiting his turnovers to 10 interceptions. His solid play has helped the Jets secure a wild-card berth with a 10-6 record. He also holds a respectable 89.4 PFF grade and 0.24 EPA per play, proving that he still has a lot of fire in his belly.

Whereas Tua Tagovailoa is the least dangerous of the bunch, he has also made notable strides in his second year as a starter for the Dolphins. He has completed 67.8% of his passes for 3,212 yards and 24 touchdowns while throwing only 9 interceptions. His steady improvement has kept the Dolphins in the hunt for a playoff spot with a 9-7 record. He also sports a decent 77.7 PFF grade and 0.19 EPA per play, showcasing his accuracy and efficiency.

Anthony Pettis’ quote “Attitude determines efforts” upholds a sports-centric ideology that attracted me to this vibrant world of team spirit, enthusiasm, and emotions. More specifically, it was the UFC domain that encouraged my strive as an avid follower. Soon I found myself resonating with another divergent sport- the American football. Ironically, just like UFC, its in-game energy brought out the calmness within me. This aspect, eventually, led me to step into the arena of writing, and I cultivated a love for NFL through words, stories, and experiences. Precisely, I have come to enjoy watching QB of the Bengals, Joe Burrow, take on the field and exhibit his magic. It is his serenity and accuracy during the match that inspires me to narrate the insider scoop on the player's thoughts and feelings. This allows my articles to contrive on three pillars—facts, analysis, and opinions. Throughout my journey, hence, I have covered varied aspects of the matches, from the core sport highlights to the off-court banter. I believe this connection to the NFL game on so many levels has become my reason for generating over 700 articles, hoarding the interest of thousands of readers, and achieving Publishing Rights at EssentiallySports. Away from the NFL enthusiasm, I spend my time glued to the screen watching other sports and gaining beneficial knowledge.
