It’s official: Odell Beckham Jr. is a Baltimore Raven. The free agent wide receiver agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $18 million in incentives yesterday. After a long offseason, the WR finally found a home for himself in the purple tint of Baltimore City. And it seems like he’s already hitting it off with his new teammate, the one and only, Lamar Jackson. 

Jackson himself is the shining light for the entirety of Baltimore. The QB has been the face of the Ravens franchise for years on end and has been one of the best players in the league, while at it. But his falling out with the team over the last year has been well documented. With OBJ in the house, it seems like the tide is shifting once again.

Jackson and OBJ are two of the most high-profile players in the league. They have dominated the NFL’s social media platforms with their widespread popularity. With the two uniting in Baltimore, they were bound to bring about some chaos with them. And they did, to the clubs of Miami.

After the news broke of Beckham’s signing, the two NFL stars FaceTimed each other to celebrate the occasion. But it didn’t stop there. They also went out partying together at the LIV nightclub in Miami on Sunday night.

Jackson and OBJ’s oddly similar journey

Although both Lamar and Odell Beckham Jr. play very different positions, their career trajectory has some striking similarities. For one, they have each had their fair share of ups and downs in the NFL. Beckham has had some injury struggles in recent years, culminating in him tearing his ACL once again last season. As for Lamar, one of the major criticisms of the QB has been his inability to stay healthy for his team. 

But looking beyond that, both superstars have been amongst the best at their position. But due to injury concerns and the lack of an adequate supporting cast, both faced failure early in their careers. The similarities are definitely going to be a common thread between the duo, as they hopefully unite with the Ravens.

The signing of OBJ is bound to play a big factor in Lamar Jackson’s decision this off-season. The QB already announced his intentions of seeking a trade from the Ravens. But with the growing chemistry between OBJ and Lamar Jackson, fans of the Ravens would surely hope that the duo will suit up together at some point.
