Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was recently in the news when he missed the crucial three weeks of the team’s OTA. The NFL critics speculated that Jackson might be looking to start for a different football team. Well, there is nothing to worry about as the star quarterback is going nowhere and will play this season with the Ravens.

Lamar Jackson will return to the mandatory camps taking place in the Ravens’ facility in Owings Mills. The practice sessions will take place this week from Tuesday to Thursday. 

Baltimore Ravens uploaded the video of their QB in which he could be heard saying, “What’s going on guys? We are back at the king’s castle. I hope you’re ready for the season because I’m surely is. Let’s do it.”

Jackson had missed the OTAs organized by the Ravens in the last month. While being questioned about Lamar Jackson, coach John Harbaugh said, “I know he’s working hard. Lamar Jackson is a hard worker, so I’m not worried about how hard he’s working. I fully expect him to come back in great shape.” Raven’s head coach was not worried at all, and he believed Jackson will make an appearance in the upcoming mandatory minicamps.

He further said, “I’m sure he’s throwing. I’m sure he’s doing a good job. And when he gets back here, we’ll be rolling with Lamar. Right now, we roll with the guys we’ve got, and when he gets here, he’ll merge right in with everybody, and we’ll go to work with Lamar.”

Lamar Jackson has reached the last year of his rookie contract with the Ravens. Although the OTAs are not compulsory, still Jackson never missed a practice session in his last 4-seasons. 

Lamar Jackson would have been fined if he had further missed the mandatory minicamps

On the other hand, it is necessary to be in attendance at the mandatory minicamps, or else players can be fined. If a player fails to report all the three days of the minicamps, then they can be fined up to $93,085 by their teams.

Lamar Jackson was voted the Most Valuable Player in 2019. But in his last season, he missed the final four games due to an ankle injury. He also entered the Pro Bowl for the second time in the last season. It was a frustrating season for the Ravens as they couldn’t make it to the playoffs last year.
