Baltimore Ravens quarterback, Lamar Jackson, is one of the most entertaining players in the NFL. Especially during interviews and press conferences, he shows his funny side quite often. In a recent interview, he took a slight dig at Tom Brady, regarding looking for calls from the referees.

In a recent interview, the reporters asked the Ravens quarterback, regarding roughing the passer call, and he jokingly said he will look for calls from now on. It is worth noting that Jackson doesn’t have a reputation for throwing his hands up or looking at the referees for calls, which could certainly change this season.

When asked about not putting his hands up and looking for a flag, Jackson jokingly said, I’m about to start. We have been needing some penalties too now outside, man. But if they see it hopefully they make the call, that’s all I can say.

“I’m gonna play football but I’m gonna start throwing my hands up too, no hard feelings to the refs side though. We need some calls,” the Ravens quarterback further said. 

Roughing the passer calls has been a topic of hot debate at the moment in the NFL. This Past Sunday, we saw the referees call a roughing the passer call on Tom Brady against the Falcons’ defensive end, Grady Jarrett. The next day, they made another roughing the passer call on the Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones, which drew plenty of criticism from fans and experts as well.

Although Brady didn’t talk about the call in his press conference, he did dismiss the referee myth. In his podcast, he talked about some statistics about not getting favors from the referees quite often. On the other hand, Jackson doesn’t get too many roughing-the-passer calls from the referees; also, he doesn’t often look for calls as well. However, he is still one of the best young quarterbacks in the league right now.

Jackson and Ravens had a decent start to the season

So far this season, Jackson has been putting the numbers to help his team achieve success. Both their offense and defense have been working great as the Ravens won 3 games this season. The other 2 games they lost this season were quite tight games.

Despite losing 2 games, the Ravens are still top of the AFC North division. In the week 6 game, they will play against the Giants, which will be a tough test for Jackson and the Ravens.
