Prince Amukamara seems all set to finish his near 3-month spell in free agency. The 30-year-old was released by the Chicago Bears in February but has found a new home in the newest NFL stadium.  As per Mike Garafolo, the 9 season veteran will be taking his talents to the newly relocated and renamed Las Vegas Raiders.

The NFL Network reporter has stated that final details need to be ironed out. But Amukamara will be in Silver and Black at the Allegiant Stadium this fall for his tenth consecutive NFL season.

The team finished 3rd in the AFC last season and made the playoffs just twice in the last 18 years. They will be looking for a change in fortunes after finally leaving the Oakland Coliseum. They were noticeably after cornerbacks with Raiders GM Mike Mayock acknowledging the same at the draft.

After the draft, Mayock said, “We feel like we got a bunch of talented kids that we don’t know enough about yet. We’ve got four or five young corners who we’re kind of intrigued by.”

They will be glad to have the experience of the Super Bowl XLVI winner in Amukamara and will start the season with him as the draft picks phase their way into life at the elite level.

Amukamara was released by the Bears largely due to cap space reasons. This is because he was entering the final year of a $27 million 3 season extension he signed in 2018. The NFL 2011 draft’s, 19th overall pick has recorded 477 tackles in 9 full seasons with 3 different franchises. In addition to this, the cornerback has 6 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 80 pass deflections, and one defensive touchdown.
