The Washington Commanders‘ fanbase might find themselves elated at the recent happenings concerning their team. The current Washington Commanders’ owner Dan Snyder landed himself in some big trouble as allegations of abetting a ‘toxic workplace culture and sexual misconduct’ were levied against him. In addition to Snyder, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was also a part of this investigation as he aided Snyder in keeping the entire thing under wraps. And, now, new names are emerging for the ownership change, which is inevitable.

Since then, a change of ownership seemed inevitable, and reports of Dan Snyder and his better half, Tanya Snyder vacating the team’s facilities emerged. Despite Dan Snyder being reluctant to part ways with the team initially, the gravity of the accusations against him forced his hand.

A probable owner emerges

Earlier reports of Jeff Bezos being one of the most likely ones to take over the Washington Commanders emerged. But as it turns out, Snyder is not a big fan of Bezos. The Washington Post was the first to report the toxic happenings going on in Washington. Much to the displeasure of Snyder, they even carried on with their relentless investigation without any regard. Turns out, Snyder still harbors some of that resentment toward Bezos, the owner of the Washington Post.

Josh Harris was part of the ownership conversation from the very beginning, as his name kept popping up regularly. Harris, the co-founder of Apollo Management, boasts a net worth of $5.8 billion, while his fellow D.C. billionaire Rales has a net worth of $5.5 billion. Together the two can easily go along with Snyder’s exorbitant demands. If the deal does indeed go through, it will break the previous record sale for a franchise, set by the Denver Broncos ($4.65 billion).

Another name has emerged as the next probable owner of the Commanders, as Canadian billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos submitted a fully funded $6 billion offer. Once a deal is finalized, Snyder would have to submit the bidder’s name to the NFL for approval. The real power would still lie with the existing NFL owners as three-quarters of the owners would need to approve the process.

Dan Snyder has dirt on NFL owners

Dan Snyder is not the kind to walk away without putting up a fight. Earlier, Snyder told a close associate that he has gathered enough secrets to “blow up” several NFL owners, the league office, and even commissioner Roger Goodell.

“They can’t f— with me, The NFL is a mafia, All the owners hate each other,” told Snyder to one of his associates.

However, one veteran NFL owner retaliated by saying, “That’s not true, All the owners hate Dan.”

One owner was told by Snyder directly that he “has dirt on Jerry Jones,” a team source told ESPN.

All the serious allegations against him, and the ongoing investigation spearheaded by Mary Jo White have revealed a lot of ugly truths about Dan Snyder and the NFL itself. With Snyder throwing his last jabs, ‘imminent’ is the word being used around the sale.
